Storage and use of data

The Wilms Cancer Foundation respects the privacy of individuals and organizations using and engaging in its programs and  services.

Through the course of our initiatives we seek to develop a better understanding of our supporters through their personal data which allows us to make more informed decisions, fundraise more efficiently and helps us to reach our ultimate goal of supporting childhood kidney cancer patients and their families.

In pursuit of this we are committed to safeguarding the privacy of the children and families of those suffering from the disease as well as those of the  organizations and individuals supporting our work while providing a personalized and valuable service to support our various programs of advocacy, education, treatment, early detection and the provision of financial & emotional support.

WCF are committed to respecting your privacy and will take all reasonable steps to process information about you in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations. The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform you about what information we collect, how we use the information, whether the information is disclosed, and the ways in which we protect your privacy.

We may use this information to make improvements to our website and to ensure we provide a user-friendly service. This information is anonymous and does not identify individual users of our website.

What we do with the information we gather

We will use this information: to help us understand your needs, to provide you with the services, materials or information you have requested, to help us provide you with a better service. We may use the information you provide for various operational purposes including the provision of this information to third parties, unless we have your express direction not to do so. We may contact you by email, or mail. Patient registry

If you register or apply for financial support you will be providing personal information through the registration process and completion of a personal health profile. Only WCF will have access to this personal information and health profile. All data held in the patient registry will be stored on a securely. Information stored in the patient registry may be used in research studies to assess how patients are treated and cared for. This information will eventually be used to help improve cancer services and access to treatments, which will ultimately lead to an improvement in the quality of life of kidney cancer patients.

Telephone helpline

If you call our helpline, you may choose to provide details of a personal or medical nature. If you choose to provide personal information, details will be stored on a securely.

Website forum

Our knowledge forum is moderated for any commercially sensitive, inappropriate, or defamatory comments, which, if found, will be dealt with in an appropriate manner. The posting of personal information on the knowledge forum means your information is publicly accessible to other WCF forum members. Please take care when posting personal information; we cannot be responsible for the privacy of any identifiable information that you choose to post in our online community.
